This week has seen a huge effort by our team to get the trails back in shape and riding better than before. The Puketapu Loop will be open from this afternoon and is still looking beautiful in autumn splendor. With a forecast for sunshine and 18 degrees on Sunday, riding Hawke's Bay trails this weekend is looking fantastic.
Note: One section of trail is still damaged. This is the Waitangi Regional Park 'Star Compass Loop' - you can still ride the concrete trails between Clive and Awatoto but the scenic loop is under repair.
14/6/18 Puketapu Loop and Waitangi Regional park trails damaged. Read more...
Our team have been out checking the extent of the flooding and damage to Hawke’s Bay Trails. Sadly, both Puketapu Loop (Tutaekuri River) and Waitangi Regional Park have been the worst hit with whole sections of trail scoured out. We recommend you stay away from the Puketapu loop and the Waitangi loop while we repair to a ridable trail again. The river silt is very slippery and trail surface uneven in damaged areas. The Water Ride between Bayview and Airport is still flooded. Please avoid these sections of the trails this weekend and DO NOT ENTER Closed sections. If while riding the trails you find other damage please contact via www.hbtrails.nz contact us page. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Trail damage photos.

13/04/18 Marine Parade - Use caution as trucks working near trail. Read more...
Napier City Council is removing soil from McLean park and spreading it under the Norfolk pines, on a section of Marine Parade. The area starts approximately from the Pump Park (100km speed zone) and heads towards Awatoto. There are numerous truck movements in this area, please use caution, common sense and stay on the trail. Remember trucks have very limited visibility, if you can't see the truck driver looking at you - he won't be able to see you. This area is taped off but please keep dogs and children away. It's expected to take 2-3 weeks depending on weather and ideally finished by the end of April. Thank you for your understanding.

We are experiencing high rainfall in the region and seeing rising river levels. Clive river is flooding at the carpark- please avoid. If you are riding we recommend avoiding Clive and Awatoto underpass areas. If not sure check in with Hawke's Bay Civil Defence Facebook page. Hopefully the sun will back out on Saturday.
